The prototypes of these 30' refrigerator cars were built by ther in 1907 and were numbered from 32 to outside Murphy roofs were applied, the brake gear system was changed to the conventional kc type and new brake staff fittings applied, sill splices were added and buffer blocks added between the cast couplet pockets and the car ends. They were then repainted and the royal gorge moat tunnel herald applied.
