Details:

A cast brass horn is supplied as an add on detail part to be mounted in a pre drilled hole on the cab roof several other replacement screws are also provided. The model has been stored for many years hence, there has essentially been no wear on the wheels, chassis or body. The blue foam insert is also in good condition.

The box is in good condition with only some staining of the label.

As with any brass model of this vintage, purchasers would be wise to conduct a complete tear down including cleaning, checking of soldered wired insulated connections, adjustment of drive train, proper lubrication, etc. The locomotive is a conventional dc unit with four axles powered through two gear towers. The model has no functional lights nor is it wired for lighting.

Alco model's ho scale brass Alco dl 701 rs 11 diesel road switcher catalog108 the prototype Alco dl 701, better known as the rs 11, was Alco mid 1950s entry into the 4 axle high horsepower road switcher market. The locomotive was recently disassembled and the drive mechanism bench tested. The model dl 701 was made by Hamhung's, was imported by Alco model's in the 1970s, and is offered for sale by the original owner.

The motor drive mechanism is functional, but like most brass model's of this era, it is somewhat noisy. It is not CDC ready.
